Apple has recently released updates for iPhones, iPads, and Apple TVs which patch three "zero-day" vulnerabilities which attackers are using to try and gain access to devices. Zero-day vulnerabilities are flaws in software that have not previously been patched by the software's author. These vulnerabilities are easily fixed by updating your device to the latest version, which is 14.4.
New Zealand's cyber security watchdog, CERT NZ, recommends updating devices immediatley.
While many devices will automatically update to the new versions of iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS, it's worth checking to make sure that your deivces are secure. Instructions for updating iPhone and iPad can be found here, and instructions for Apple TVs can be found here.
