About Me - Regan, Your IT Guy

You could say my interest in IT started young. I remember tinkering with my dad in his garage as I grew up. Pulling things apart and seeing how they worked was fascinating. It's from this start that my interest in technology grew.

Fast forward to a time working in sales and technical support for a national computer products supplier, followed by a stint in teaching at a local Tauranga primary school, and here I am running IT Squad. Along my journey, I became involved in managing IT systems. I started to see how small businesses could benefit from tools previously only available to large organisations, thanks to "the cloud".

Cloud-based tools offer unparalleled opportunities for businesses to improve communication, collaboration and productivity. However, I also noticed that businesses need help to implement and manage these tools securely. They, especially, need help to embed these tools into their organisations to realise the benefits these tools offer.

There was a gap in the market for accessible, ongoing IT support for small businesses. It was clear that businesses and their staff needed something more than Google and didn't involve hours of their time putting the puzzle pieces together.

When my marketing adviser suggested that I tell you a bit about me personally, I had to admit that I spend far too much of my time submerged in technology. I'm not a gamer. I'm a geek. I've always got a project on the go and am constantly learning new things. I often can't avoid the frustration that technology creates, but I love the challenge of solving technology problems!

When I escape from my three monitors and my standing desk, I love being outdoors. I start each day with a morning walk and try to get my cocker spaniel, Charlie, out for a walk in the evening. I also love a good adventure. Whether it's out biking with friends, pitching a tent somewhere, sharing a meal, or soaking up concerts and festivals, I love being with my crew and having a good time.
